“I never would have finished writing my book”
There's a yiddish word, "kvell," that describes a gushing burst of joy and pride for someone else's accomplishments. It's a feeling I never understood until I started coaching. When a client achieves something they deeply want, a wave of satisfaction makes my heart squirm and my eyes well up. At the risk of attracting "the evil eye" for kvelling too loud and proud, I've decided to start sharing some of my client's successes. I hope it inspires you and gives you a taste of what working together might lead to. If you are interested in exploring that further, reach out.
Marissa Shapiro is the founder of Martha, a brand consultancy based in NYC. While working together she has re-launched her business, finished writing a thriller novel, and overhauled her relationship to money. She’s more confident, in flow, great at saying no and in sync with who she is (and what she cares about) inside and out of work.
Initial focus: Reduce hesitation in ways to move forward on my book and business. Steady my focus on the things I really want.
How satisfied are you with your progress towards your goals (rate 1-10)? Why?
I am 1000000000000 satisfied with my progress towards my goals. There are so many positive shifts that have improved my day to day happiness and joy and long term perspective on life. I feel fulfilled, more in control in a way that's meaningful, healthy + grounded in what I want (vs unhealthy control). I genuinely feel so much progress in the work we do, far beyond what I was hoping for when looking for a coach. I never would have finished my book by now if we weren’t working together. Thanks for being such a wonderful listener and guide. Literally life changing 🤯
